Pitmaster Byron Chism
Owner of Bad Byron's butt Rub
Byron Chism is the creator of Bad Byron's Butt Rub. He began his professional cooking career in 1990 and is a graduate from The Culinary Institute of America.
In 1998 he began competing in the barbeque competitions to help promote his new product, Butt Rub. Since that time, he has won 38 Grand Championships, including, The American Royal Invitational. For seven consecutive years he was ranked top ten overall for the KCBS Team Of The Year Awards.
Byron and ButtRub.com competition team has represented the U.S. in 16 countries as of 2018. In 2017 Byron was inducted into the Jim Beam BBQ Hall of Fame.
Cooking Class, 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday
Byron will cover all of the techniques from choosing the meat, preparation, controlling the fire and the cooking process, right on to the plating of the meal.
To top-off the cooking classes Mike Brown, owner and vintner of 12 Spies Vineyard and Farms, along with his staff will host a wine and BBQ pairing, enabling you to become your own connoisseur while serving fine wines and fabulous home cooked barbeque.
